{ designer crush - anna spiro }

I adore Australian interior designer Anna Spiro's style. There is so much fearlessness in the way she approaches each of her rooms.

Think she might love COLOR?

And PATTERN?

At first glance her spaces seem a little insane, but then you realize just how magically it all somehow works.

There is an unmistakeable joy to these rooms that makes them hard to resist.

I dare you to try to feel unhappy looking at this:

I am a huge fan of  her signature gallery walls composed over patterned wallpaper. SWOON.

{ color crush combo - coral and navy }

Seems I can't get my fill of navy right now.  I've professed my love for hot pink and navy in the past.
And now I can't get enough of navy paired with coral.

{ hanging with missy }

I'm hanging with the adorable and sweet, Missy, of Pink Pistachio today with some thoughts on motherhood. Missy is one of the kindest, big-hearted gals I know, and she just happens to have a fantasticly creative blog too.  Oh, and she just welcomed a brand new, little baby boy into the world!  Won't you please head on over to Missy's little spot and check out her cute, little world.

{ i spy a diy - the sweet shop skirt }

Look what I whipped up with a $4.50 fabric remnant!

I was inspired by Anne Cramer's yummy striped Flynn Skirts.
These lovelies are only $160.  HA!

I was pretty thrilled that I was able to hide the seams (see how nicely those stripes match up? Yay!) in one of the pleats.  Oh, how the little things make me happy.  I also made it super, duper-dee easy on myself  by adding elastic to the back of the waistband instead of fussing with a zipper.

Not too bad for a nap time project!

Pin ItAnd did I mention that it costs $4.50?!! ;)  I didn't bother with a pattern here.  I just sort of eyeballed and pinned the pleats on myself,  but there's a great pleated skirt tutorial here if you're interested in making a similar one.

{ designer crush - more sarah jane studios }

My crush for all things Sarah Jane continues, and she does not disappoint with the launch of her newest collection of fabrics. Look how darling!

Um, yep.  I want a skirt for myself in this cute sailboat print.

It reminds me of this vintage Anthro dress:

And this skirt from last season:

Love the border at the hem of this one!  I can totally see this translating to a quirky and cute grown-up skirt.

I can think of about a million projects for these pretties!  You?

These fabrics are produced and distributed by Michael Miller Fabrics and are expected to be available August 1.   Yay!!!  I'm like a kid on Christmas morning. ;)

P.S.  I really enjoyed my little bloggy break.  I felt all kinds of creative, and I have a few projects to share in the coming weeks.

{ gimme a break }

I'm certainly not one of those delusional bloggers that thinks the world is out there waiting with bated breath if their blog goes silent every now and again. But I just thought I'd be polite and let you know that I'm taking a bit of a blog break. I need to recharge a bit. Working on living more like this:

Hope to see you again soon! :)
